If you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram and wondered how celebrities always look so effortlessly fit and glowing, you’re not alone. I used to think that kind of transformation was reserved for people with unlimited time, money, and access to the best trainers in the world.
But here’s what I’ve realized: while celebrities definitely have advantages, the actual workouts and nutrition strategies that get them red carpet-ready? Those can work for us too. We just need to adapt them to real life.
That’s exactly why I started Fit with Laurie.
The Moment Everything Changed
I’ll be honest—I wasn’t always fit. I was very active growing up, somewhere along the way, I quit prioritizing nutrition and fitness. This led to excessive weight gain (freshman 15 anyone?), and declining mental health. One day I decided I didn’t want to resign myself to this type of lifestyle – constantly unhappy with how I looked, anxious to go to the beach or a pool and put on a swimsuit. I strived to achieve the level of fitness I had once enjoyed – running, gym workouts, but most of all, the confidence and happiness that goes along with it.
I have always been obsessed with how celebrities get ready for roles and events. The idea that we can morph our bodies by exercising and eating whole, healthy foods fascinated me. Knowing I couldn’t afford a trainer like the celebrities can, I consumed myself with researching the types of workouts they are doing, the foods they are eating, and the lifestyle changes they make to achieve their goals. I began implementing these strategies into my own wellness routine, and am excited to share my journey, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
What This Journey Is Really About
This isn’t just about looking good (though that’s definitely part of it). It’s about proving to myself—and to you—that we don’t need celebrity resources to achieve celebrity-level results.
Here’s what I’m committed to:
- Following workout programs inspired by how celebrities actually train
- Eating well without a private chef or expensive meal delivery service
- Staying consistent even when life gets busy
- Documenting the entire process—the good, the bad, and the sweaty
What You Can Expect From This Blog
I created Fit with Laurie to be the resource I wish I had when I started this journey. Here’s what you’ll find:
Celebrity Workout Breakdowns: I research how celebrities train for specific roles or events, then adapt those workouts for real life. No $500/hour personal trainer required.
My Transformation Journey: I’m sharing my progress every step of the way—measurements, photos, what’s working, what’s not. Total transparency.
Practical Nutrition Advice: Forget restrictive diets and meal plans that require hours of prep. I’m sharing what actually works for busy people who still want results.
Real Talk: I’m not going to sugarcoat the challenges or pretend everything is easy. This is the honest, unfiltered version of what it really takes.
My Current Starting Point
I believe in accountability, so here’s where I’m starting:
- Current fitness level: I work out 3-4 times per week, mix of cardio and weights
- Biggest challenge: Staying consistent with nutrition, especially on weekends
- Main goal: Build lean muscle, improve definition, and feel confident in my own skin
- Timeline: I’m thinking 12 weeks for my first major checkpoint
I’ll be sharing regular updates with measurements, progress photos, and honest reflections on what’s working.
Why Celebrity Fitness Makes Sense
You might be wondering: why focus on how celebrities train? Here’s my thinking:
First, these are people whose literal job sometimes requires them to transform their bodies in 12-16 weeks. They’re working with the best trainers who understand what actually produces results quickly and sustainably.
Second, there’s something motivating about following a program that you know worked for someone you admire. When I’m doing a workout inspired by how Margot Robbie trained for Barbie or how Victoria’s Secret models stay runway-ready, it makes me push a little harder.
Third, most celebrity workout programs are actually pretty straightforward once you break them down. They’re not doing anything magical—they’re just doing proven methods consistently and intensely.
The Difference Between Celebrity Resources and Celebrity Results
Let me be clear: I don’t have access to celebrity resources. I’m not working with a famous trainer, I don’t have a nutritionist planning my meals, and I’m definitely not getting cryotherapy sessions or IV drips.
But here’s what I do have: the internet (where trainers share their methods), a gym membership, a kitchen, and determination. And honestly? That’s enough.
The truth is, you don’t need celebrity resources to get celebrity results. You need:
- A solid training program
- Consistent nutrition that supports your goals
- Enough sleep and recovery
- The mental commitment to show up even when you don’t feel like it
All of that? Totally achievable for regular people.
What I’m Learning So Far
I’m still early in this journey, but I’ve already learned so much:
Consistency beats perfection. Missing one workout or having one imperfect meal doesn’t derail your progress. Missing five workouts or seven imperfect days in a row? That’s when problems start.
Progressive overload is everything. Just showing up to the gym isn’t enough. You have to challenge yourself more each time—more weight, more reps, better form.
Nutrition really is 70%+ of the equation. I can work out six days a week, but if my nutrition is off, I won’t see the results I want.
Your mindset matters more than you think. The days I walk into the gym telling myself I’m capable and strong? Those are the days I crush my workouts.
